Get help with Demo My Product and the Demo My Product Chrome extension.
Contact us
Email hello@demomyproduct.com and a person will reply, usually within one business day.
To help us sort it out quickly, include:
- the email address of your Demo My Product account,
- what you were doing and what happened (the exact message, if there was one),
- for a capture problem, the address of the page you were capturing and your Chrome version (
chrome://version), - a screenshot, if you can.
Chrome extension
The Demo My Product extension adds screenshots of the tab you are on to your demos, from the toolbar or with Alt+Shift+S. Capture with the Chrome extension walks through installing it, connecting it to your account and capturing.
Connect or disconnect a browser
Click the extension's toolbar icon and choose Connect to Demo My Product, then Approve in the tab that opens. To cut a browser off (for example a lost laptop), open Settings → Chrome extension → Manage connections and choose Disconnect. That works even if your plan has lapsed.
Permissions the extension asks for
- activeTab and tabs: to take a screenshot of the tab you are capturing, when you ask for it.
- scripting: to read the page you are capturing as HTML, when Editable HTML is on.
- storage: to remember your connection and the demo you last captured into.
- demomyproduct.com: to talk to your Demo My Product account.
- Read and change data on all websites (optional, only asked for when you first capture with Editable HTML on): needed to copy a page's text, images and styles so you can edit them later. Turn Editable HTML off in the popup and the extension captures screenshots only. It reads a page only when you capture it, and nothing else.
The extension never captures anything by itself, and sends captures only to your own Demo My Product account. See our privacy policy.
Common problems
The extension says it is not connected. Choose Connect to Demo My Product in the popup and approve the connection. If you disconnected the browser in Settings, or signed in to a different account, connect again.
Nothing happens on some pages. Chrome does not let extensions capture its own pages (anything starting with chrome://) or the Chrome Web Store. Open a normal web page and try again.
An Editable HTML capture came out as a screenshot only. Some pages are too large, or block being copied. The extension then keeps the screenshot so you never lose the step. Check that you allowed the "all websites" permission when Chrome asked; you can grant it later by turning Editable HTML off and on again in the popup.
The popup says my plan does not allow capturing. Capturing needs an active trial or subscription. Open Billing to see your plan and reactivate it.
My AI agent cannot connect. See Build demos with AI agents, and check Settings → Connected agents.
